Earthquakes.
It was when I was seven. I was sleeping blissfully when suddenly an earthquake started to up rise. Confused, stressed, and half awake, cautiously continuing to sit up, then pushing my mother back and forth weakly. Her eyes opened slowly then after one look around she instantly became aware of what was happening. I had no clue what was going on but my mother sure did, and she didn't waste any time. She aggressively grabbed me by the arm and pulled me off the bed with her, then proceeded to run to each room to push every child out of the place that put them in a deep slumber. At this point my heart was beating as if I had been pushed out of a plane, and into the sky. Nothing was holding it back. We all rushed outside, and waited for it to stop, while hearing the awful sounds of belongings stumbling to the ground, crash, smash, swoosh. Then after all that time, my family and I were relieved. It was over.

Dog fighting
CALL OF THE WILD RESEARCH.
Dog fighting/gambling
Dog fighting is an inhumane blood sport where dogs who have been bred, conditioned and trained to fight are placed in a pit to fight each other for spectator entertainment and profit. Fights average one to two hours, ending when one of the dogs cannot continue. There are many reasons people are drawn to dog fighting. The most basic is greed. Major dogfight raids have resulted in seizures of more than $500,000, and it is not unusual for $20,000 - $30,000 to change hands in a single fight. They are underfed and under-loved, because there are people who breed dogs just to kill them. 16,000 dogs die each year in organised dog fighting. “The biggest dog fighter in the world lives in your state.” One of those fighters, Mt. Olive's Harry Hargrove is a “legend” in the dog-fighting world, for instance, who has bred, trained and fought dogs for 40 years.

Call of the Wild research question
research question call of the wild.
What type of dog is Buck personality wise?
Buck is a strong intelligent creature. He takes a powerful role in ‘Call of the Wild’ after being kidnapped and separated from the rich family he becomes a strong sled dog. When he was living with the rich family, he was petted, fed, groomed and treated like the cherished dog he is. He had everything he possibly wanted and needed. Buck is first described as a large dog of one hundred and forty pounds. He learns from observations of others, and finds he can dominate them easily.
Why was Buck treated so poorly?
Buck was hit and abused by all the men, especially the one in the red sweater, this was because they thought that Buck was going to try and hurt them, they also wanted to train Buck for transportation in a cruel way.
St Bernard's are also rescue dogs: they would carry a barrel full of alcohol around their necks, then they would search for people in the mountains and give them the alcohol. (usually whiskey.)
Fun Fact: the call of the wild alludes to the animal cruelty
Jack London witnessed in the Klondike.

Food recount
Food recount
As Nikita led me into the room, I could faintly smell the scent of salt. What’s going to happen?, I thought. She carefully sat me down and told me to hold out my hand. I was nervous, the people around me were exclaiming all sorts of things, I couldn't tell whether they were cheers of joy or not. and I had no idea what was happening, because I was blindfolded by my partner. I cluelessly held out my hand. After that Nikita gave something to me, which felt like a bowl? She told me to reach into the bowl and grab what's in it. It was rough and oily. Whaea Alison told us to think how it felt, smelt, and tested like. All my worries passed when she said that, I finally knew exactly what it was. I placed the chip in my mouth and ate it. The texture was crispy and crunchy, the scent was oily and faintly salty. Half way through the bowl of chips, the teacher asked if anyone had offered their buddies a chip. I slowly turned to Nikita. I hadn't even thought of offering! “ you…. Want some?” I said blankly, Nikita laughed and took a chip.

CAMEL
The camel has many adaptive traits for their life in the desert. They have long eyelashes and thin, slit nostrils that they can close to protect them from blowing sand. They are adapted to survive a long time without water and food. Camels are perfectly adapted to living in this extremely changeable environment. Their most noticeable way of living in these challenging conditions is the two humps on their back. In these humps camels store fat. When food is scarce across the desert camels use the fat in their humps to provide vital nutrients. Camels are well at survival in the desert. Their adaptations include: large, flat feet to spread their weight on the sand. thick fur on the top of the body for shade, and thin fur elsewhere to allow easy heat loss.

The engine consists of a fixed cylinder and a moving piston. The expanding combustion gases push the piston, which in turn rotates the crankshaft. ... After the piston compresses the fuel-air mixture, the spark ignites it, causing combustion. The expansion of the combustion gases pushes the piston during the power stroke.
CHEESY
Cheese is made the same way by curdling milk except the milk is curdled on purpose. Most cheese is made in factories. After milk is poured into big vats, a “starter culture” of bacteria is added to convert the lactose into lactic acid. Then an enzyme called rennet is added to curdle the milk.

CROC VS ALLIGATOR
Reptiles. One obvious similarity between alligators and crocodiles is that both animals are reptiles. They are cold-blooded creatures that expend little energy when they move. They cannot regulate their own internal body temperature, and must rely on external heat sources such as the sun. The most obvious way to discern the two reptiles is to stare down their sinister snouts. Alligators have U-shaped faces that are wide and short, while crocodiles have slender almost V-shaped muzzles.
PENCILS
The core of a pencil is made of graphite, clay, and water. During the 17th century, the graphite and clay were grounded down by hand, put into a cylindrical mold, and fired in a kiln. Today, pencils are mass-produced by machines that cut down the wood, insert the lead, and stamp or print a design. companies: Bic Pencils, Blackwing Pencils, Calepino Pencils.
HEART TO HEART
The right side of your heart receives oxygen-poor blood from your veins and pumps it to your lungs, where it picks up oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide. The left side of your heart receives oxygen-rich blood from your lungs and pumps it through your arteries to the rest of your body.
EYES
Your eye works in a similar way to a camera. When you look at an object, light reflected from the object enters the eyes through the pupil and is focused through the optical components within the eye. The front of the eye is made of the cornea, iris, pupil and lens, and focuses the image onto the retina.

Crafting a pinwheel
We have been making smaller versions of wind turbines.
Like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. Wind turns the propeller-like blades of a turbine around a rotor, which spins a generator, which creates electricity, to power cities.

At the front of the school
As we were walking out of the class the sun was blazing into my eyes, it was very bright but it wasn't that warm. Then we were at the front of the school, there were a lot of birds chirping, I wasn't very focused but I'm pretty sure I was writing down enough. I was tired, I wanted to take a break and sleep. Although I knew I couldn't. I didn't find much to write about. Probably because I got distracted too much, (specifically my friends right next to me.) i don't know any of my talents just yet but i do know i'm really good at zoning out. We are finally finished, we walk get to class and start the next subject
